Gail S Wolfe, D.V.M.

Dr. Gail Sommers Wolfe was born in Baltimore, Maryland.  She graduated from Michigan State University with High Honors earning a B.S. in 1969 and a D.V.M. degree in 1970 receiving the MVMA award for Highest Scholastic Standing. She has been in private small animal practice in Okemos, Michigan since 1971. She is the owner of Bennett Road Animal Clinic, Inc.  She has volunteered at local nursing homes with her own pets.  She belongs to several religious organizations.  For the past two years, she was recognized by the Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter for the James Herriot Humanitarian Award.  In recent years, including 2011, she has been voted Favorite Veterinarian in the local newspaper multiple times!

Professional Associations she belongs to include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and the Mid-State Veterinary Medical Association.  She  organized  People, Pets, and Vets (a public education program) for  nine years. She prides herself in helping the future generations of veterinarians; she mentors veterinary students as well as facilitates a V.I.P.S class at MSU. She was a member of Phi Zeta Honor Society in college and belongs to the local Mensa group.  Married to Alan Jay Wolfe (for 44 years), she has two sons Rustin (married to Allison Kaplan) and Kyle (married to Heydy); daughters Lauren (married to Casey Lamb) and Kami (married to David Schneider); and five grandsons, Austin, Oscar, Colton, Ezra, and Aiden; and one granddaughter, Joselyn.

Heather Michalak - Veterinary Assistant

Heather Michalak was born in Birmingham, Michigan.  She grew up in Westbloomfield, before moving to Novi, where she graduated high school.  She attended Western Michigan University, where she earned a bachelor in science for education and early childhood.  After WMU, she enrolled in the Animal Behavior College’s Veterinary assistant program.  Heather fulfilled her externship hours at Bennett Road Animal Clinic, and spent the summer of 2011 volunteering.  Her interest in animals goes back to childhood, when she got her first pet cat, B.C. who lived with her parents when she went off to college.  She now has two cats, Puss-Puss and Dr. Know, that she loves as if they were her children.  Outside of work you can find her taking walks, rollerblading, camping, biking, hiking, swimming, skiing, and even watching T.V. and going to the movies.  Heather is grateful to have the opportunity to work at Bennett Road Animal Clinic.  She can’t believe how lucky she is to be part of such a great team, working with animals.
